The Dream of Actaeon

ギリシア神話の中に、女神ディアーナの水浴を覗き見るアクタイオーンの話がある。この話を元に、ピエール・クロソフスキーは「ディアーナの水浴」という書物を著し、「見ること-語ること」の不可能性を語る。作品「アクタイオーンの夢」は、この二つの書物からヒントを得て、森を彷徨うアクタイオーンの姿を観客に重ね合わせることを試みる。中心となるのは、砂上に林立するパネル群の中央に円形の鏡のある迷路状の空間である。パネルに記された言葉は中心に向かうに従い少なくなり断片化する。入り口と出口に置かれた二つのミニチュアは、その迷路状の空間を俯瞰するような立ち位置を観客に提供する。

In Greek mythology, there is a story of Actaeon looking into the bath of a goddess "Diana." Based on this story, Pierre Klossowski wrote the book "The Bath of Diana" and describes the impossibility of "seeing and talking." Inspired by these two stories, this work "The Dream of Actaeon" attempts to overlap the viewer with Actaeon's wandering in the forest. The core structure of this work is a labyrinth-like space with a circular mirror in the center of a group of panels standing on sand. The words are written on the panel become less and more fragmented toward the center of the room. Two Miniatures placed at the entrance and exit provide the viewer with a position that looks down on the labyrinth-like space.
