BEACON 2014

『横浜都市文化ラボ、パノラマプロジェクト（東京編）』(※）への参加作品。
葬儀場のホールという特異な場所を展示空間としたサイトスペシフィック性を強く帯びた展示。本物の棺の置かれた舞台と回転装置のある映像投影空間がカーテンで仕切られ、観客はホール側（＝生者側）から旋回する映像を見るだけでなく、カーテンの 裏側（棺側＝死者側）に入り映像の裏側を見ることができる。映像は、吉岡洋が棺に入る映像から始まり、約16分の風景映像（東京入谷周辺・大垣）の後、同じ人物が棺から出る映像で終わる。

This work is a participation work in the “Yokohama Urban Culture Lab, Panorama Project (Tokyo)” (*). It was exhibited in a unique place called a funeral hall and was strongly site-specific. The actual coffin was set, and the image projection space with the rotating BEACON device is partitioned by the curtain so that the audience not only sees the video image from the hall side (=actual world) but also the backside of the curtain (coffin side = world of the dead). The image projection space with the actual coffin on the stage and the rotating device is partitioned by the curtain so that the audience not only sees the turning image from the hall side (= this world side) but also the backside of the curtain (coffin side = dead person). You can see the backside of the image. The video starts with the image of Mr. Hiroshi Yoshioka (a member of the BEACON project team) entering the coffin and ends with a picture of the same person coming out of the coffin after about 16 minutes of the scenery video (Tokyo Iriya and Ogaki area).
