BEACON 2020

「BEACONシリーズ」の８作目となる2020年の作品。 新たに京都で撮影された映像、音響、テクストが用意され、日常の風景の中で見過ごされてきた時間の痕跡を探る。 特に本作では、現代の京都の風景の中に紛れ込む戦争（アジア太平洋戦争）の痕跡に焦点を当て、風景が持つ時間的（歴史的）な多層性を暗示する。 中心となるBEACON装置に加え、四台の小モニターが展示会場の壁面に掲示され、戦前から戦後にかけて撮影された子供たちの映像が流される。 また、展示に合わせ、小冊子「BEACON 2020」を出版し、これまでのBEACONを概観するとともに、本作の背景を語る。

The 8th work of the "BEACON series" in 2020. By video images and sound have freshly taken in Kyoto combined with text, this work is seeking out impressions that have overlooked amid day-to-day scenes. Particularly it suggests the historical (temporal) multi-layered structure of the landscape while showing the war("Asia Pacific War") ruins/traces that mingle with the modern scene of Kyoto. In addition to the primary BEACON rotating device, four small monitors set on the wall of the room, and images of children taken from prewar to postwar shown. Along with the exhibition, the booklet "BEACON 2020" published to give an overview of the "BEACON series" and to tell the background of this work.
